Groupsort (www.groupsort.com) is a website set up by Golden Orb Ltd to help organise people into diverse groups. Given a list of people and their various characteristics, groupsort quickly works out how to allocate them into groups in order to maximise diversity. While it was originally set up to help a trainer organise effective courses, it turns out that the same approach can also be applied to similar problems in other personal, academic, school and corporate settings.

This blog has been set up to give Groupsort users some idea of what’s going on behind the scenes, and allow us to solicit feedback. We are particularly interested in hearing ideas for new functionality that might be incorporated into the site.
